Craftsman finishing a sanded wood floor by hand

Established nineteen eighty-eight

A family trade, handed down

Fraser Floor Finishing started with a single machine and a single van and a simple promise: leave every floor better than anyone expected, and leave the house cleaner than we found it.

Since nineteen eighty-eight we have worked on everything from tiny cottage bedrooms to school halls and listed buildings. What has not changed is who turns up: the person who quotes your floor is the person who sands it.

We invest in modern extraction so sanding is virtually dust-free, but the important parts are still done by hand — reading the grain, matching a repair, judging when a coat has cured. That mix of new machinery and old habits is why so much of our work comes from recommendations.

Every job carries a fixed written price, a start date we keep to, and finishes chosen for how the room is actually used.
